The NHS Confederation has estimated that 18% of patients with a mental health condition cannot leave hospital as they do not have a home to go to. Our Sustaining tenancies, enabling people (STEP) model can help.
Our STEP model provides holistic customer support based on each customer's needs. This support ranges from access to housing and furniture packs to intensive housing management and flexible wraparound support packages.
The priority of the STEP model is to help customers to access safe and secure housing.
As a leading housing provider, we have high volumes of "general need" housing stock and established relationships with other housing providers. Our expertise allows us to minimise the barriers to accessing safe and secure housing for our customers.
We work closely with each customer to ensure they have the relevant furniture to live comfortably in their home. The team ensures this by identifying specific needs a customer might have. This can range for carpets and soft furnishings to white goods. Specific items will be ordered ahead of the customer moving in.
The funding for each pack will vary depending on the customer’s circumstance but can be paid for using service charges, personal budgets or private funding.
