What does your average day look like?
My average day starts by checking my emails and planning for the day ahead. Throughout the day I communicate with our customers via social media. I answer their questions and book in repairs. I also check on and reply to TrustPilot reviews.
What attracted you to working at Home Group?
The possibility of career progression was important to me. There are also lots of different projects to get involved with. Home Group are also very flexible when it comes to annual leave and working patterns.
What are some common career paths in this area?
The list is endless! There are so many opportunities within Home Group. Career paths range from managing teams within the CSC, to coaching and even housing or marketing. Home Group work with their colleagues to help them progress.
What skills, abilities and personal attributes are essential?
Being patient and caring is important. We work with customers through challenging times. You must be able to put the customer first and empathise with their situation. Home Group aim to build customer independence and aspirations. Keeping that in mind is key to this role.
What steps would you recommend to those starting this career?
Just start! There are so many transferrable skills that are great for a customer service role. Put yourself forward for activities and opportunities. Make sure you have an open mind and be ready to learn.
