Customer and Volunteer Awards 2022
Written by Herman Khosah, marketing adviser
Our annual Customer and Volunteer Awards are a series of celebrations across the UK to recognise our customers and volunteers who go above and beyond to make Home Group what it is.
Here are our amazing winners from this years’ awards:
Jackie Caley
Jackie has lived at Naples House since August 2020 and has had such a positive presence there that she is called the ‘Naples Godmother’. Jackie goes out of her way to look after others and helps make Naples a nicer place to live.
Andi-Elizabeth Rutherford
Andi brings so much passion, experience, and commitment to improving housing services. She has co-created and delivered training on trans inclusion and spoken at events and conferences, including the Housing Diversity Network, and a Chartered Institute of Housing conference.
Brenda Burton
Brenda provides excellent peer support to new customers moving into the service and supports them in accessing the community, employment, education, and volunteer opportunities.
Brian Hannah
Brian is a credit to his community and loves identifying and sharing frugal recipes to save money as well as encouraging everyone to grow their own fruit, veg and herbs. He helps build planters from recycled materials, providing seeds and thrifty gardening tips.
Charlie Moores
Charlie is passionate about Home Group’s customer engagement opportunities and is committed to improving services. Charlie puts his heart and soul into everything he does with infectious positivity. Last winter, he even dressed as Santa to surprise customers at one of our over 55s services.
Drew Hardwick
Drew has committed eight years to ensuring customers’ voices are heard at all levels of Home Group. He empowers others to speak up and take part in engagement opportunities.
Shaun Glenister
Shaun is always thinking of others and does a huge amount for charity, recently raising £200 for Prostate Cancer UK. Colleagues and customers describe Shaun as kind, caring, thoughtful, driven, and empathetic.
Tracey
Tracey has shown resilience, determination, and courage in utilising her experiences to benefit herself and others. Tracey now volunteers with two charities as a peer mentor and a peer researcher.
Nichola Janes
Nichola is the most caring, thoughtful, driven, and empathetic person who has faced many personal challenges. Her progress has been amazing, and she dedicates a lot of her time to martial arts training, with a mixture of jujitsu, krav maga, judo and taekwondo classes.
Mahfooz Akhtar
Mahfooz is an outstanding customer! She has a heart of gold, gets involved with all activities and goes above and beyond to help. Mahfooz is the most amazing cook and loves to share food with others.
