Home Group to hold consultation on 47 new affordable homes in Millom

Matt Roberts, PR and media advisor
Housing association Home Group is holding a public consultation this Thursday (26th March 2026) about the new homes intended for Queens Park in Millom.
Local residents are invited to the event at Black Combe Junior School between 3:30pm and 6pm to ask questions and share feedback.
It will also be an opportunity for local residents to look over the proposed site layout. A copy of that document is also able to be downloaded at the bottom of this article.
Home Group colleagues have also met with the Town Council to present the plans to them for input as well.
The current plans will see 47 affordable homes built on the site, with 35 two-bedroom, 10 three-bedroom and 2 four-bedroom planned.
Feedback will be gathered on the day, or can be shared with Rosie Edge from the Home Group development team at Rosie.Edge@homegroup.org.uk by the 28th March 2026, allowing for planning permission to be sought in April.
Should it be successful, the aim will be to start work on site in early 2027.
Once built, these homes will be made available for social rent and allocated based on local need through the Cumbria Choice Based lettings system.
