Much needed affordable homes arrive on Teesside

Around 80 of the homes are ready for people form the region to move into them, with work starting on a further 60.

The properties in Marske are being delivered by North East housing organisation Home Group, in partnership with Miller Homes Teesside. They range from two to four bedroom homes.

Phase one of the development is complete and has 75 two, three and four bedroom homes available for what is know as social rent – rent that is way below the private rented sector, and lower or equal to the local housing allowance.

There are also 11 homes available for shared ownership on the development, known as Beaconfield Rise.

Phase two of the development, which is underway, will consist of 58 two, three, four, and five bedroom homes, as well as 10 shared ownership.

Phase two is expected to be completed by 2028.
