New affordable options to buy a home coming to Penrith
Matt Roberts, PR and media advisor
Homebuyers in Penrith will soon have new, affordable options as an exciting new collection of shared ownership homes are coming to the town.
There will be 24 homes delivered at the Eamont Chase site, an equal mix of two and three bedroom houses.
Contracts are being finalised between Persona Homes and Penrith-based Genesis Homes to deliver the properties.
Homes are available to reserve now and come with garden space, parking, and customisable kitchens to meet people’s personal needs.
The development also has a local area restriction in effect, which means that those buying the properties will either already live or work in and around Penrith or are moving to the area to do so.
Local area restrictions are being introduced in Cumbria to tackle growing numbers of second home ownership, which have contributed to pricing many local homeowners out of the market.
Shared ownership is becoming an increasingly important and popular route to buying a home for people around the country as costs continue to rise.
It allows for people to buy a percentage of their new home and pay rent on the remaining total, providing a cheaper opportunity to step onto the property ladder.
Lee Coan, Persona Homes said: “We cannot wait to bring these homes to the people of Penrith. We’ve listened to what local people want, and we think these new homes perfectly capture what it means to live in Cumbria.
“Offering them as shared ownership allows for more people to be able to buy their dream homes.”
It will be latest of a series of shared ownership sites which Persona Homes are delivering across Cumbria and beyond, aimed at helping open the housing market up to more people.
