In our communities: November 2024
Matt Roberts, PR and media advisor
It has been a month all about memories, companionship and inclusivity this November across Home Group, with so many of our colleagues and customers putting a smile on each other’s faces.
Here are just a few of our highlights from this month – but we know there has been even more amazing things going on all across our services, offices and homes.
Open to all
This week all across Home Group, we have been celebrating inclusivity. From colleagues to customers, we have been talking all about how we make sure everyone feels involved and learning from one another’s experiences.
Each and every one of us helps add to the diversity across Home Group and we all bring unique ways of viewing things.
We all hear these words plenty, but at Home Group we have wanted to make sure we had opportunities for our customers to learn more. At one of our services in Hartlepool, our customers did just that and had a great time talking and learning together.
A concert of classics
You might have thought all the superstars of years past had come together for one night only in Gateshead, as our customers at Watergate Court filled the halls with singing!
Full of smiles and joy, customers at our older people’s services sang their hearts out to their favourite songs.
It was an amazing way of getting our customers involved, socialising and living life to the fullest.
Our very own Oscars!
Across in Huddersfield, our customers and colleagues came together to make an amazing day, celebrating their achievements with their very own awards night.
It was a brilliant locally thought-up idea to make sure everyone, colleagues and customers alike, felt seen for all the amazing things they do.
And what awards evening would be complete without some snazzy trophies to mark the celebrations!
Community spirit for the Christmas period
Our customers are amazing people, but we know that the festive period can be difficult and costly for many. At our parenting community connector service in Sunderland, our colleagues recently visited LoveAmelia to collect items from their Christmas Toy Appeal.
We were simply blown away by the generosity – there are now families who are going to spend the festive period with gifts for them and their children that will bring the biggest of smiles to faces.
It reminds us that the spirit of community is still truly alive and well, in Sunderland and all across the country!
