Another 44 affordable homes are set to be delivered across Uttlesford, building on a further 190 homes delivered as part of a local partnership.

Housing association Home Group has been involved across a number of development projects in the region, with further schemes planned.

These homes are providing a mixture of affordable rented properties, which will provide much-needed housing to local people, as well as shared ownership options to provide additional affordable routes onto the local housing market.

Around 190 homes had been delivered in Saffron Walden, as part of a historic partnership between the housing association and a major housebuilder.

Further homes are expected to be submitted for planning in the new year.

Building on this success, elsewhere in Uttlesford, work has begun on 44 new homes in Great Dunmow. The scheme will see a mix of houses, flats and bungalows built in the historic market town.

To the east of the region, near to Felsted, a further 16 homes are nearing completion with several to be made available with shared ownershop to provide additional, affordable housing options in the local area.

Craig Crowley, Head of Development and Delivery for the South at Home Group said: “We are delighted to have as many new homes delivered and in the works as we do across Uttlesford. It is a brilliant place to live, and these new homes will provide affordable options for more people.

“We have also been able to work closely with a range of partners, both national and local, to help deliver these affordable homes, and to ensure we are providing homes which serve our communities all across Uttlesford.

“We are very excited to start seeing customers moving into their new homes in the coming months.”
