Housing association Home Group Scotland has received a further 48 new affordable homes on the Mill O’ Mains estate in Dundee from developer McTaggart Construction.

The development is the latest phase in a large estate regeneration project, first planned in 2007, and which has seen development ongoing since December 2013.

The latest new homes on Hebrides Drive, Dundee will offer a varied mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes, cottage flats and flatted accommodation, reflecting the varying housing needs locally.

There is also a dedicated supported living block, commissioned by Dundee City Council, to provide further support.

These latest homes were built with social value and community benefit in mind, with a number of contracts being awarded to local firms and local jobs being created.

Bryony Willett, Director of Home Group Scotland said: “We are incredibly proud of our work regenerating the Mill O’ Mains estate in Dundee, and these new affordable homes are an important step. We know the difference these homes will make for our customers and the community.

“This project has been about more than just building new homes too, with the construction work having helped create jobs locally and the energy efficient design making sure our customers’ new homes remain warm, safe and fit for the future.”

Janice Russell, Managing Director of McTaggart Construction, said: "Mill O' Mains is a great example of what can be achieved when the right partners come together around a shared ambition.

“We're proud to have delivered 48 high-quality homes that will make a real difference to residents and the wider community in Dundee, and to have done so in a way that created genuine local opportunity throughout the construction process."
