For another year, one of the UK’s largest housing associations has been ranked as the best workplace for women in the North East.
Home Group, a major provider of housing, health and care services, placed top for the region and 5th in the UK in the Best Workplaces for Women Awards 2022 in the super large category.
Ranking above global companies such as Hilton (6th), DHL (8th) and Santander (34th), Home Group’s position makes it the highest placed charitable organisation and is also the highest placed representative based in the North of England.
Susan Fulton, Director of People of Home Group, said: “Being named as a Great Place to Work for Women for another year is a testament to the incredible work our colleagues are doing here at Home Group.
“Driving meaningful conversations and action, our colleagues are helping bring more women into senior leadership roles, supporting conversations around safety, menopause and improving the workplace for women, and ensuring all voices are heard.
“It is the reason Home Group have been ranked once again in the top five. There is still work to be done, and we are always looking for new ways to learn and improve, but it is fantastic to see our efforts recognised as one of the best workplaces for women.”
The awards recognise the best super large, large, medium and small workplaces in the UK who are leading the way in creating equal opportunities for women in their workplace.
Home Group was named 5th in the super large category for businesses with over 1,000 employees.
This latest success follows on from also securing 5th place in the UK's Best Places to Work survey, the fourth consecutive year Home Group has placed in the top 10. It is also the third year Home Group has placed in the top 6 for Great Place to Work for Women.
Benefits of working at Home Group include enhanced holiday and maternity leave, time off for volunteering, flexible working hours, policies to support women, Grow our Own talent programmes to support careers, a specific colleague network for women and awards to celebrate employee successes and achievements.
