Police commissioner visits Whitehaven services as part of regional tour

Matt Roberts, PR and media advisor
As part of a regional visit alongside The Home Office’s Head of Safer Town Centres, the Cumbria Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner David Allan stopped by to see some of the work Home Group is doing locally.
As part of a tour with Cumbria Police to understand how the government’s Action in Winter Initiative was being delivered locally, the commissioner visited a number of examples of partnership working locally.
This included stopping by the Senhouse Centre in Whitehaven, where Home Group is one of a number of partners delivering Hope Haven, with the hub providing vital wellbeing support locally.
The Commissioner also visited Peter Street, where Home Group deliver a Move On scheme for people at risk of homelessness.
At both sites, the Commissioner was able to hear about the ways Home Group and partners were working collaboratively to improve the lives of people locally within Whitehaven.
The group also toured a number of areas around the town centre where this joint collaboration has helped reduce criminal and anti-social behaviour and improve safety.
A video of the Commissioner’s visit was shared on their Facebook page, which we have embedded alongside this article.
