Our customer report: by customers, for customers

Aimee Cavener

Written by Aimee Cavener, marketing adviser

Our customer report is created by customers to shine a light on Home Group’s performance from a customer viewpoint. In our 2022 report, over 30 customers contributed.

The report covers our customer promise, important stats and tells the stories of our customers. We’ve broken things down for you here in this blog, and you can also read the report in full.

Hear from our customer board members what it’s like representing our customer voices:

Indra
“…It’s been great that Home Group has managed to keep customers involved throughout the pandemic and beyond…A highlight in our meetings is the customer sessions, which are always warmly met by all Board members and are looked forward to at every meeting. They are always a topic for conversation, discussion, and debate. It is so good to hear the customers’ points of view, straight from the customer where they can answer any questions there and then.”

Chris
“…As well as being a customer member of the Board, I am still part of Viewpoint teams and take part in complaints review panels, and I think it is both useful and important to do that, to try to keep in touch with the problems that customers are facing, and to ensure that the Board never loses sight of them.”

Stand out stats

customers engaged with us between April 2021 to March 2022

These are just some of the great things our customers get involved with. You can read all of our stand out stats in the customer report.

Customer promise

Our customer report covers stories from our customers linked to our customer promise. You can read their stories in full in the report. Here’s a sneak peek to get you started

Safe place to live
Charlotte is a customer at our recovery service in Leicester, “I was anxious being the only woman in the service, but the lads were so supportive, they looked out for me and included me. The people who work and live there really care.”

Care about you
Kelly is a customer and apprentice from Harlow in Essex. “I have learnt so many positive transferable skills through customer engagement and have a great sense of pride and achievement being involved”.

Working together
Ronnie is a customer from a learning disability service in Kent. He has been volunteering at both Home Group and the NHS and has managed to merge the two together for a life swap event.

“I love volunteering for both Home Group and the NHS, and seeing them come together like this has been amazing for me. Setting this event up and seeing it happen has made me just as proud as I was the day I carried the Olympic torch”.

Customer diversity action groups

Whichever interest you have, our customers have a group for you to join and share your thoughts. They decide their own names and agenda items they want to focus on. Here are some of the groups they have brought to life:

  • Wonder Women
  • Men’s Group
  • We are Unique and Proud
  • Rainbow Roofs
  • Honest Opinion Group
  • Do You Hear Us?
  • Over 55s forum

And here is what some of our customers have to say about their involvement in groups:

“Being in a woman’s group makes me feel resilient”

“These groups will make a big difference to customers”

“It’s good to have the opportunity to speak to someone face to face and it makes you feel better to get things off your chest.”

Sounds pretty good, right? You can read about them in more detail in the report.
