December is full of fun and festive activities, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the holiday season without spending money. Here are a few things to try:
Explore the outdoors
Wrap up and visit a nearby nature reserve. The Wildlife Trusts care for over 2,300 and there any many around the UK to explore. A lot are free to visit, find one near you.
Visit local museums
Most museums and galleries have free entry. Step indoors and take in culture and history, check which museums are free.
Enjoy a festive movie night at home
Recreate the magic of the cinema at home with your favourite film, cosy blankets and snacks. If you have children, you can also try making your own movie tickets to add some extra fun.

Attend festive events
Many towns and cities host free events. Check local council websites for listings. There are usually craft fairs, storytelling sessions or winter walking trails to take in over December.
Visit your local Christmas market
Many Christmas markets are free to enter and full of festive atmosphere. Take in the sights, sounds and smells that are sure to get you in the festive spirit.
