Free and low cost days out for the Easter holidays

Go to your local gallery or museum

Lots of museums and galleries around the UK are free to visit and simply ask for a donation. Perfect for a day out with the family, plus you might even learn something new!

Plan a picnic or a walk

With the weather (hopefully) improving as we enter Spring, it's the perfect time to get out and enjoy your local parks, beaches and other outdoor spaces. Take a picnic and enjoy the warm weather. Make sure to bring plenty of water to drink if the weather is nice.

Go to the cinema

Lots of cinemas across the country offer discounted tickets during school holidays.

  • With 'Cineworld Movies for Juniors' screenings you can get £2.50 tickets for kids (aged 14 and under) and accompanying adults on weekends and school holidays. If booking online, there's a 95p per ticket fee.
  • With 'Odeon Kids' screenings you can get £2.75 tickets for kids (aged 14 and under) and accompanying adults on weekends and school holidays. Odeon offers a small selection of movies per week (usually between one and three, labelled with 'Kids').
  • With 'Vue Mighty Mornings' screenings you can get £2.49 tickets for kids aged four to 12 and accompanying adults on weekends after 10am and every morning during school holidays, when booked online or via the Vue app (if bought at the cinema, tickets are £3.49 each).

Attend a free football class

McDonalds are running free football classes for kids aged five to eleven at over 1,600 locations across the UK. You don't have to buy anything from McDonalds to attend. All you need to do is register online and look for a free session near you. Find out more on their website.

Have a board games day

This one is free if you already own some games, or you could pick some up from your local charity shop. There are also board game cafes that allow you to rent their boardgames for a certain amount of time. This is a great way to keep the kids occupied.
