Beauty Tshuma

I am a leasehold customer in the Durham area and have been since 2023. 

Being a committee member is very important to my community and me. This is an opportunity to bring in my experience and skills of working in health and social care, supporting people and ethnic communities to understand and access support. 

My contribution will highlight the lived experience of seldom heard communities who are often left out of service planning and delivery. Sharing the lived experience, complexities of migration, barriers, and enablers will promote a positive working relationship.

Cultural recognition and competency of the population served will enable robust communication and inclusive service delivery. This is a great opportunity for my personal development in working in a committee and board level.
