A £5m development of 40 new homes is underway in Springburn, providing two-bed apartments for social rent.

The homes will be managed by Home Scotland, a division of Home Group, one of the UK’s largest providers of new homes for sale and affordable rent, and are being built by Glasgow-based AS Homes (Scotland) Ltd.

The development in Springburn Way features two four-storey blocks to reflect the scale of the neighbouring tenement properties. Timber frame construction will mean quicker build times and energy efficient homes.  The homes are expected to be completed by autumn 2019.

Stuart Dixon, head of development and delivery at Home Scotland, said: “We already have an excellent relationship with AS Homes so it’s good to be working with them again.

“We look forward to providing a further 40 affordable homes in this area of Glasgow. The flats will put this vacant land to good use, helping to enhance Springburn.”

Paul Kelly, Managing Director of AS Homes (Scotland) Ltd added: “This development will provide high-quality, modern and affordable rented accommodation for the Springburn area, on what was previously a gap site.”
