Local Housing Allowance caps

The latest announcement by the government (October 25, 2017) about Local Housing Allowance caps means customers will no longer be affected.

Local Housing Allowance (LHA) caps for all supported and social housing that was due to come into place in April 2019 has been stopped.

New customers who rent from us who signed tenancies from April 2017 and those aged under 35 would have been affected by the changes through reduced benefits.

If you’re a new customer and signed a tenancy at anytime from 1st April this year, you may have been given information on LHA caps and signed a waiver stating you understood the financial risks. The government have now stated these changes will not happen. This means you are no longer at risk of losing benefits under LHA caps.
