Rachael Byrne - Executive Director Rachael Byrne- 7 web

Rachael has 25 years’ experience in supported housing and an absolute passion for what it takes to support customers at all levels. As Executive Director of new models of care, Rachael has overall responsibility for over 600 supported housing projects nationwide.

Previously Rachael has worked for a range of supported housing providers including local authorities, NACRO, and Riverside ECHG as Director of Supported Housing. She is a trustee of Abbeyfield and CLINKS and an Editorial Advisor for Inside Housing magazine.


Meet the Clinical Team

Shaping practice, clinical governance, new interventions and innovations.

By combining in-house clinical expertise with our housing support model and accommodation we’re able to provide person-centred support and clinical care. Our investment in this clinically-based support practice model combined with our teams’ experience enables us to provide intense support to more vulnerable customers. The team’s clinical expertise, specialisms and approach to working with the NHS to co-create of services means we are able to meet the needs of the customers using our services.

  • Dr Nichola Stefanou - Head of Clinical Practice

    • As Head of Clinical Practice, Nichola leads the development of practice, clinical governance, new interventions and innovations.

      Before joining the team Nichola held roles within NHS foundation trusts and health care providers. She started her health care career as a HCPC registered podiatrist and has an extensive background in clinical governance education and a Doctorate in Health Care.

  • Lindsay Courtney - Clinical Lead for Intermediate Care and Reablement

    • Lindsay Courtney- 1 webLindsay is Home Group’s Clinical Lead for Intermediate Care and Reablement and is determined to deliver innovative solutions to complex health and social care needs. Lindsay is working on services that promote independence through rehabilition and reablement and to embed assistive technology in service design.

      She has a broad range of experience having worked in the NHS for over 34 years within a range of clinical and management roles. Her most recent role saw her influencing the future of workforce developments within Health Education England North East.

      She is a qualified and registered occupational therapist and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Education and Practice and was a university lecturer for several years.
  • Jenny Mace - Strategic Lead for Learning Disabilities

    • Jenny is Home Group’s Strategic Lead for Learning Disabilities and is responsible for designing and developing our learning disability practice and support growth. She has a particular interest in health equality and supporting this for all the people and communities Home Group works with.

      Jenny has 30 years’ experience working in social care including youth work, criminal justice, homelessness and mental health. Before joining Home Group Jenny worked for housing associations and specialist support organisations as a business development manager, working with commissioners to identify and deliver community-focused services.

      Outside her role at Home Group Jenny is Director of a small community interest company called Creative Unlocked that delivers creative technology projects to young people who are marginalised and do not engage though traditional routes.

  • Louisa Watkin - Strategic Lead for Learning Disabilities

    • Louisa Watkin- 8 webLouisa is Home Group’s Strategic Lead for Learning Disabilities with a focus on developing our approach to working with people with a range of complex characteristics including autism, a forensic background, mental health issues and learning disabilities.

      Louisa has 19 years experience working in care and support and supported housing, in a range of operational, managerial and strategic roles. Working with people with mental health issues; learning disabilities; who are homeless and socially excluded. She was seconded to NHS England to support the development of the Transforming Care Service Model and National Plan.

      Louisa has previously worked for the RNIB, Seeability, The Winged Fellowship Trust (now Revitalise) and was a Director of Liberty Child a charity providing holidays for children with learning disabilities, autism and physical disabilities.

Providing sustainable services and a robust commercial plan.

Our Commercial Team develop our commercial plan and make sure our bids and tenders run smoothly. They also ensure we’re providing sustainable services which match the needs of our customers and commissioners both today and tomorrow.

  • Andrew Gregor - Commercial Director

    • Andy Gregor- 5 webAndrew is our Commercial Director which involves him leading our commercial team and their work on bids and tenders and developing New Models of Care products.

      As well as being a chartered accountant Andrew has held roles at a global sportswear brand and in business consultancy which brings a rich commercial experience to the team.

  • Darren Gleed - Head of Tendering

    • Darren Gleed- 1 webAs Home Group’s Head of Tendering, Darren makes sure our service design and bidding processes run smoothly. He also works with colleagues to develop and maintain our products and propositions.

      He has over 18 years’ experience in housing, care and support and a BSc Hons in Psychology.  Prior to working for Home Group Darren has worked as an applied behavioural analyst for children with autism and held senior roles within the care and support sector, including organisations working in the fields of learning disabilities, mental health, substance misuse, health, young people and education, training and employment. He is particularly passionate about developing and implementing new and innovative services that better meet the needs of customers and commissioners.

Meet the Partnership Team

Developing strong relationships with the NHS and health commissioners.

Our Partnership Team are responsible for developing strong partnerships with the NHS and health commissioners. The team’s experience of working both inside and alongside the NHS means that they're able to understand the pressures on the NHS and work with health commissioners to co-create services that offer real solutions. The team are building on many years’ experience of working with a range of commissioners from local authorities, health and government.

  • Francis Clarke - Partnership Manager for North East and East Coast

    • Francis Clarke- 6 webPartnership Manager, Francis, leads on the delivery of new business in the health market and has worked at Home Group since 2007 when he joined as a regional management accountant. He brings experience from the private sector, housing providers and an accountancy practice to the team and is a CIMA qualified account with a BA in Accountancy.

  • Jonathan Pritchard - Partnership Manager for South and London

    • John Pritchard- 16 webJonathan is Partnership Manager for our New Models of Care and is committed to working with NHS commissioners to understand their needs and find the right solutions. Before joining Home Group in 2013 as Business Contract Manager, Jonathan worked for a global information technology company covering technical, commercial management and sales roles.

      Outside Home Group he is Chair of a Board of Trustees to a local community charity.

  • Derek Samuel - Partnership Manager for North West, West Yorkshire and The Midlands

    • Derek Samuel- 5 webDerek is a Partnership Manager in the New Models of Care Team, managing the development of new services with Home Group’s local government and health partners, with a specific focus on mental health, learning disabilities and older people.

      Prior to taking up his role at Home Group, Derek performed contract management and business development roles for independent healthcare providers (My Dentist and Alliance Medical) over a 10 year period, and has recently held business development and programme management roles with an NHS Foundation Trust and a Local Authority in Greater Manchester. 

      Derek has spent the majority of his career in healthcare, working for both commissioning and provider organisations, and holds Master in Business Administration (MBA) and Prince 2 Project Management qualifications.
