Homeside Lodge is extra care supported housing designed for adults over 55 who need extra support and care to enable them to live as independently as possible. 

Homeside Lodge consists of 45 self-contained flats, each with an en suite toilet and wet room. The building is divided into six avenues, each with its own fully equipped kitchen, accessible bathroom, laundry room, storage space, and dining and sitting rooms. 

Our large communal lounge is a hub of activity. Above the communal lounge we have a family space with children's toys, a TV and DVD player, and a large key pad computer for customers to use at any time. 

Your home for life

As part of your assured tenancy agreement, Home Group is your landlord and responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the communal spaces at Homeside Lodge. 

We also provide housing-related support. This begins with setting up your tenancy and rent agreement, and will be followed up by monthly welfare meetings, consultation meets, and regular assessments of your individual needs. This will allow our team to help you find financial, personal, and wellbeing support when you need it most. 

Your care, your choice

Your care needs can be accommodated at Homeside Lodge. We have fantastic links with My Care North Tyneside and can help you find the perfect care provider for your individual needs. 

Available independently to your tenancy agreement, Home Group care colleagues can provide personal care, medication support, and enabling. Your care package can be tailored, but may include the following:

  • Medication support and personal care
  • Enabling and support liaising with external agencies
  • Cleaning and laundry service
  • GP and dentist appointments

If you choose Home Group care, then your package will be tailored to your individual needs and invoiced monthly via North Tyneside Council. 

Your activities

Activities take place every day at Homeside Lodge, and all residents are welcome to take part. Whether you enjoy baking, golf, fishing, computers, knitting, bingo, seated exercises or a singalong, we have something for everyone at Homeside Lodge. 

Your dining, your choice

In your fully fitted kitchen you’ll find a selection of cooking equipment and basic ingredients stocked at all times. Kitchens at Homeside Lodge are all adaptable and in order to help you maintain your independence, support is available as required for all cooking and cleaning tasks. 

Should you choose to have additional support, the Homeside Lodge team can also provide a choice of pre-prepared cooked meals for you. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper, and daily refreshments can be purchased as you require, and will be invoiced on a four-weekly basis. Please speak to your support worker to choose a package customised for you.  

Your home, your guests

Homeside Lodge is your home, and as such you are more than welcome to invite guests and visitors at any time. The building’s electronic door entry system means your visitors can come and go freely with a door entry fob, or can call directly to your voice intercom within your property to be granted access at any time. We also have 24-hour housing concierge available. 

Your front door can also be activated using your personalised electronic door entry fob. 

As well as your private flat, Homeside Lodge’s shared sitting rooms, dining rooms, kitchens and family room are all available to you to entertain your guests at any time.
