Sheltered housing in Newcastle upon Tyne

Cohen Court is a sheltered accommodation scheme that consists of 24 one-bedroom flats and one three-bedroom house.

Each self-contained flat has an accessible walk in wet room, gas central heating, and double glazing, and the scheme is ideal for singles or couples over 55 who would like their own individual flat and front door but also the opportunity to socialize and be close to local amenities.

A friendly support worker is available Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm to provide-housing related support.

An out-of-hours service is also available during evenings and weekends, meaning a support worker is always just a phone call away.

The accommodation has regular social nights for tenants to get involved in if they choose. These include tenant-ran bingo, quizzes, and entertainment.

The scheme is perfectly placed between Trinity Square shopping centre and Saltwell Park. The Victorian ‘people’s park’ has 55 acres to explore and is home to a boating lake and Saltwell Towers, where you can enjoy afternoon tea and coffee.

It's also situated on the 53/54 bus route, so there's regular buses into Gateshead and Newcastle City Centre, with both journeys only taking around 10 minutes.

Cohen Court is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a home in the Gateshead area who wants to live independently but is looking for the added peace of mind that there's support available when it's needed.
