Stonham is England’s largest provider of housing and support for vulnerable and socially excluded people. We work with over 13,500 men and women each year.
The people we work with are usually single or are living apart from a partner. Some are homeless, while some are living in council accommodation or they are tenants of another housing association. If you or someone who you know are like any of the groups of people below, we might be able to help you:
- single people who are homeless for any reason
- young people who have been living in local authority care
- single people who live in council accommodation or are tenants of another housing association, and who need support with maintaining their tenancy
- people of all ages with mental health problems
- people of all ages with learning difficulties
- people who have physical disabilities
- men and women who have been in prison and have nowhere to live when they are released
- women and their children who are escaping domestic violence
- people with drug and/or alcohol dependency problems
- vulnerable young mothers and their babies
- refugees (people who have been granted leave to remain in the UK)
The support we provide varies from person to person, but can include:
- Support with budgeting and shopping
- Guidance with form-filling and claiming benefits
- Help with basic skills (literacy, numeracy, IT skills, etc)
- Access to other support services, like addiction support and counselling
- Help with moving on to living independently and finding work
We are really proud of the work that we do. Stonham makes a real difference – giving vulnerable and socially excluded people the opportunities and support to make a change to their lives. Maybe we can support you too.
Can I join a Stonham service?
We have over 570 services across England. Many of our services work with people with all different needs, while other services only have people with a specific type of need.
Can I refer myself to a Stonham service?
It depends on the service that you would like to join. The best thing to do is talk to the service directly and check with them – or ask a friend to contact them for you.
