Officially opening the fun day with the Mayor of Gateshead, Cllr Joe Mitchinson, Paul will be mixing with the crowds at the Elgin Centre between 11am and 4pm.
Jointly sponsored by affordable housing provider Home Group and Gateshead Council we’re laying on loads of free activities for people of all ages including Go Karting, soft play, interactive reptile area, a story corner and everyone will be entertained by a steel band.
Last year over 2000 people came along and enjoyed a fabulous day with local Councillor Brian Coates commenting: "It’s been a wonderful day out for the community and good to see everyone enjoying the attractions. It’s been great to see Home Group and the Council working together to organise such a successful event.”
Kathryn Forte, Home’s Neighbourhood Strategic Manager, said: “Building on the success of last year’s event we’re sure that the 2011 Carnival on the Hill will be even bigger and better than last year.
“We’re also hoping that having Paul Mooney there will guarantee good weather!”
