New start for Victory Crescent

The foundations have been poured and a large crane has been brought in to help erect the timber frames in this, the first phase.

In all, 60 properties will be developed at Victory Crescent, Short Acres and Sandy Lonning in three phases over three years, including the demolition of 50 existing flat top houses. The first phase, which should be completed by March 2009, will cost £2 million and will include housing for rent and shared ownership.

Several of the existing tenants on the estate will move into the new properties following completion: their properties will then be demolished as part of phase two. A number, who are elderly, will be able to move from a house to a bungalow, which have been designed for the over-55s.
