Why regeneration?

Dollis Valley should be a place where people enjoy living. We are confident that our regeneration proposals will help to achieve this. We know that there are some tough challenges:

  • Poor quality design of Dollis Valley
  • Isolation from the surrounding area
  • One access point
  • Run down retail units
  • Need to meet the Government’s Decent Homes Standard
  • Fear of crime

What residents told us

When we consulted with local people, we found out their priorities:

  • Good quality new homes
  • Traditional street layout
  • New road network
  • Integration within the local area
  • New community and retail facilities
  • Good quality and useable open spaces
  • Enhanced link to the green belt
  • Well-designed, sustainable and safe neighbourhood
  • Maximised benefits of Dollis Valley’s unique location
  • A place where people choose to live

Our proposals

Dollis Valley masterplanThe Dollis Valley masterplan will guide the transformation of the existing estate into a vibrant and integrated neighbourhood. This begins with the creation of a logical network of roads, streets and buildings, which create a potential for reconnecting the site to its wider community. The aim is to build houses and flats on tree-lined streets so that the new development will have street patterns, which echo those, which border it.
