The contrast between the areas, which border the Dollis Valley site, and the existing land use is marked. Built in the late 1960s and early 70s, Dollis Valley consists of 436 flats and maisonettes built in 3 and 5 storey blocks. The site is poorly designed and will benefit from regeneration.

The north of the Dollis Valley site is typical of the suburban character of Chipping Barnet and comprises mainly 1930s semi-detached houses set in tree-lined streets. To the south of the site lie Crocus Field and Meadow Close cul-de-sacs with green belt land beyond. The west of the site is bounded by 2-storey houses at Rossiter Fields and New Fieldways and the east edge is bordered by Bryant Close and Brent Place with Barnet Football Club and open playing fields (which have been recently transferred from green belt land) located further to the east.
We are looking forward to delivering a new Dollis Valley , which better serves the needs of local people and is in keeping with the surrounding area.
Moving forward
We have been working closely with the London Borough of Barnet to produce a revised masterplan for Dollis Valley . We carried out Consultation with local residents in November 2006. We are currently evaluating the responses before we carry out a wider consultation in the local neighbourhood and will show these proposals through a series of exhibitions and publications.
