Taking action

We will investigate all reports professionally and objectively. Where it is appropriate and possible, we will take action against the person identified as harassing you, but only with your agreement.

Depending on your wishes we can:

  • interview or write to the person harassing you and instruct them to stop
  • take legal action against them such as an injunction or an anti-social behaviour order to prevent them from coming near you or your home and from causing you any further problems
  • if the person responsible is one of our tenants, we may take them to court and ask for them to be evicted.

Going to court can take a long time and is not usually an easy process. However, we are committed to taking legal action where it appears to be the best way to stop further harassment. In every case we will work with you to find the best solution.

We may not always be the best organisation to deal with the harassment. If this is the case, we will talk to you about what options you have and who else will be able to help.

In an emergency

Contact the police immediately if you have been assaulted or threatened or if you are afraid for the safety of your family. You should also contact the police if your property has been damaged or stolen.
