Harassment

We will not tolerate incidents of harassment against our customer or our staff. Where harassment occurs, we will work with the victims to find a solution to the problem. We will take quick, robust action and deal with offences firmly. In some circumstances we will take legal action.

Harassment is a criminal offence and there are specific laws against racially motivated violence, abuse and harassment. Your tenancy agreement includes clauses which do not allow behaviour of this kind.

What is harassment?

We define harassment as ‘ the deliberate interference with the peace, comfort or safety of any persons on the grounds of race, colour, religion, sexual orientation, disability, age, nationality, ethnic origin or any other identified factor’.

Actions that might be defined as harassment include:-

  • Verbal abuse
  • Threatening or intimidating behaviour
  • Arson or attempted arson
  • Graffiti
  • Damage to property
  • Physical abuse or assault.

We think that the key thing in defining harassment is when a victim believes that they are being harassed. We will work with any of our customers who ask for assistance.
