Living in a Home Scotland home

We believe that everyone has the right to enjoy living in their home safely and peacefully. Our good-neighbour guide clearly sets out your responsibilities as a tenant and ours as a landlord.

Your responsibilities include:

  • paying your rent on time and where appropriate apply for benefits to cover the cost of your rent, our staff will be able to provide advice on this matter
  • keeping the house and garden in good condition
  • controlling your pets
  • not causing noise or a nuisance to your neighbours.

You must also tell us if:

  • you plan to make any alterations or improvements to your home
  • anyone has moved in or out of your home

As your landlord, we will:

  • provide a high standard of repair and maintenance on your home
  • sort out any complaints
  • tell you in advance about the yearly rent review
  • tell you about any changes to your tenancy agreement

We want you to be satisfied with our service and hope you will take the opportunity to become involved in managing your home. We want to hear about any problems with our services and we welcome suggestions for improvement.
