Regeneration

When we took on the responsibility of managing and improving Copeland Borough Council's social housing, we had no illusions about the scale of the task ahead of us. We are already well on the way to meeting all the promises we made in 2003 to our customers - and they were on top of meeting the challenging Decent Homes Standard set by the government for all Britain's social housing.

One of the biggest challenges facing us has been to develop a long term plan to improve and more importantly maintain strong and stable housing markets in South Whitehaven. The Greenbank, Woodhouse and Kells estate face changing housing demands and needs from their communities. After a year of research and development, we are now much closer to agreeing a set of plans to give these estates a positive and vibrant future.

This Newsletter, the first of its kind, sets out what we have done so far and what is proposed for the future. Regular editions will continue to be published.
