Home board 

The Home Board is responsible for the overall direction of Home and its strategy and has ultimate responsibility for the conduct of its business. It reserves certain key decisions to the board itself - for example approving Home's budget, financial forecasts and plans - and it monitors overall performance. It meets six times a year and more frequently if required.

Rod Bennion MRICS, FRSA Appointed Chair: January 2007

Background:

Group Board Member since October 2003. Rod is Chairman of NMBS, a mutual society, and Chairman of two charities; The Construction Youth Trust and St Christopher’s Hospice. He is also a Director of McNicholas plc, having spent 40 years in the construction industry, latterly as Chief Operating Officer of the Waites Group. He champions modern methods of procurement and an integrated approach to community development.

Expertise:

Large scale procurement and construction. Substantial experience of house building both in social housing and the private sector.

Chris Brown MA, MBA, FRICS Appointed: October 2003

Background:

Chris worked initially as a Chartered Surveyor, moving later into regeneration and property development. For 6 years he worked as a Director of AMEC Developments with responsibility for urban renewal and following a string of achievements he set up Igloo Regeneration with Morley Fund Management, leaders in socially responsible investment. Chris is committed to urban regeneration and brings skills to the Group in developing and running large scale projects.

Fra Cooke MA Appointed: July 2005

Background:

Fra is Chair of Stonham. He has over 30 years experience of business management in a variety of senior roles and has been a housing association board member for 9 years. He is also Chair of Governors of Westminster Kingsway College.

Strategy and competitive markets. Governance and financial control.

Andrea Gregory CIPD, MBA Appointed: January 2007

Background:

Andrea is also a member of the Stonham board and is a management consultant of 'People Business', supporting organisations in developing strategy and managing change. Andrea has worked in a wide range of sectors and has a passion for enabling people to give of their best in organisations.

Richard Raeburn MA, MBA, FCT Appointed: July 2003

Background:

Richard is Chair of the Audit Committee. He is Chief Executive and Director of the Association of Corporate Treasurers as well as a Director of ACT (Administration) Ltd and the ACT Educational Trust.

Expertise:

General management, treasury; risk and corporate finance; corporate governance.

Christine Turner BA (Hons) Appointed: July 2005

Background:

Christine is Vice Chair of Housing Operations. She is a housing consultant and has over 25 years experience in the housing association sector. She has been a housing association board member for over 12 years.

Expertise:

Housing association management and governance, development (including home ownership and market rent), policy and strategy development and human resources.

Pamela Woodburn MSc, MCIH Appointed: January 2003

Background:

Pamela is Chair of Home in Scotland. She is a senior director with Scottish Enterprise, and is a Board member of North Lanarkshire Urban Regeneration Company and of Motherwell College.

Expertise:

Housing, regeneration, economic development, strategy and performance management.

Graham Wright MA, FRS Appointed: March 2006

Background:

Graham is a Consultant and former Senior Partner with Dickinson Dees, a leading law firm. He is a board member of Young Enterprise, a leading national charity, and is Chair of Bellway plc Pensions Trust.
