Home Improvement Priorities of Home Group Customers

In the summer of 2008 our customers told us that the following improvements (in the table below) were their most important priorities.

Please take some time to consider what priority you would give to each of the improvements listed below.

Rank 1 for your top priority down to 18 for your lowest.

Kitchen – for example, sufficient base and wall units to suit layout, broom cupboard, choice of colour for wall tiling. Already selected
Bathroom – for example, shower mixer to the bath or separate shower, choice of colour for tiling, dual flush toilet. Already selected
Heating and hot water – energy management system to control central heating system or storage heaters. Already selected
Internal design and layout – space to make an office through the conversion of an existing room. Already selected
Mechanical ventilation – air circulation fans to prevent dampness. Already selected
Windows – for example, glazed with energy efficient glass, fully secured windows. Already selected
External doors – fully secured doors. Already selected
Thermal insulation – improved insulation to external walls. Already selected
Acoustic insulation – sound insulation to current building regulation standards. Already selected
Electrical installation – for example, hard-wired smoke alarm, sufficient double socket outlets. Already selected
Plumbing installation and fittings – for example, insulated hot water cylinder, water meters. Already selected
Asbestos – all asbestos removed. Already selected
Energy efficiency – to current Government recommendation standards. Already selected
Access and passenger lifts – disability Discrimination Act compliant (Effective access to the property for disabled people). Already selected
Refuse disposal – space for storage of, and separate collection of recyclable materials i.e. bin stores. Already selected
General security – for example, external security lights. Already selected
Open space and landscaping – for example, collection of rainwater for garden watering, garden walls / fencing, more plants and trees. Already selected
Off-street parking – sufficient space to park a vehicle. Already selected
